Ok, when I was a teenager, I was what you might refer to as a feminist. In fact, at Young Life camp, when I did Work Crew for a month, some of the guys joked that I carried a pink swastika (feminazi) and a sharpened carrot (I was also a raging vegetarian). I really was not an obnoxious feminist who treated all guys like they are trash while we are queens. Rather, I felt that women were/are just as good as men and should never be treated otherwise. I proved this often by doing the "heavy" lifting and "tough guy" challenges that the guys would compete over, earning myself the iron man (in this case woman) award at the end of the month. My feminism manifested itself in a variety of ways, all tame I assure you, but one of these ways was my absolute determination to raise any girl children I might have to be strong, independent, and definately not housewives.
Fast-forward to today, and discover this evidence:

Yes, that is me vacuuming while my eldest daughter imitates me with her own little vacuum. This picture would have made young me choke. I guess what I have discovered is that housewives are some of the strongest women I know, and that there is no shame in pretending to be one. That being said, she also has a doctor set, you know, just in case.

Great post Jess! I agree. I was trying to put down something in my profile under the job description, but everything fits housewife, so I put nothing. It would have taken too long to read!:)
I have no doubt that Julia will be whatever Julia wants to be...you don't have to train her in the tough or leadership departments...she's also darn cute...so there!
pop
BTW...those new Julia pics are teriffic...sunglasses, beads...the 60's all over again!
That vacuum of yours looks like a tank!!!! love, mom
I don't mess around. Dirt sees me and my tank vacuum coming and runs the other way. That's tough, baby. Ooooh yeah.
That is sooo cute, Jess. My nieces are all so adorable! And hey, vacuuming builds muscles, man. Trust me, now that I'm a big fat woman, pushing our vacuum around knocks me out. She should be able to beat up all the boys around her after she's done that for a couple of years.
OK, you need to post again. I am bored.
